“A Boat Can’t Go without a Motor.”

So much good stuff happening this morning all over in the Honeysuckle Vine room that it was hard to pick one thinking activity to blog about. So because of my love of working with natural items I just couldn’t help but posting this one.

One of the unique characteristics of this activity was one of the Bitty Brown Bats at the message area was helping his peers with this activity at the natural items area. Collaboration across areas of the room is not unusual; I just love happening upon it and watching when children cross boundaries “Loris Malaguzzi”.

The Bats at the natural items area were making salad and designing a boat. One of the Bats at the message area was creating a motor for the boat. He said, “A boat can’t go without a motor.”

Notes:

  • Tomorrow, 8:00-8:30, Family Breakfast in the Honeysuckle Vine room
  • Tomorrow, 9:30-1:30, Trip to the Natural History Museum. Children need to pack a picnic lunch using disposal items for easy discard.
  • Send in Summer Noticing Books for inserts so that these can be ready for summer noticings
