This morning we had a mystery reader Dad. I learned that Arthur’s family depicted in the Marc Brown Arthur books is a family of aardvarks. Thanks, Parents, for these interesting tidbits.
After our mystery reader we headed out to the park. As an added benefit it was overcast, a bit cool and misty; all adding to the overall ambiance of the hike.
In these photos you can see one child busily gathering materials that might be used in the creation of a 3 dimensional deer. A duo of bats gathered to watch termites eating a piece of rotting wood and ants waiting in the wing to occupy the spaces when the termites move out.
Upon returning to the Honeysuckle Vine room, we had snacks and then a meeting about our deer sighting in September. We began a conversation about what we’ve learned about deer since then. More coming later…
