I remember when the children discovered this piece of wood. Their intense investigation of it was about colors and textures, primarily. It was a unique find!
And then the children began to think of the endless possibilities that this newly found object might offer them.
I noticed the children:
- rubbing the wood
- placing it against a palette of other natural items
- finding similar textures and colors
- naming it
- using it as a prop in play
Nature is a gift to children AND adults!
