Placing It Against a Palette of Other Natural Items

I remember when the children discovered this piece of wood.  Their intense investigation of it was about colors and textures, primarily.  It was a unique find!

And then the children began to think of the endless possibilities that this newly found object might offer them.

I noticed the children:

  • rubbing the wood
  • placing it against a palette of other natural items
  • finding similar textures and colors
  • naming it
  • using it as a prop in play

Nature is a gift to children AND adults!
