The Hill Where Our Children Play Everyday Is Characteristic of Community

IMG_2620 boundaries The hill where our children choose to play everyday is characteristic of community.  The children engage in conversation and play provoked by nature.  In this photo you can see the girls hanging out on a huge log that takes on different characteristics decided by the children.  Their play might be a one day play episode or episodes of play spilling over into other days. Next time you’re at Horace Mann, you should check out the board across from our room.  There you can find research by the children and adults in the room about the hill.  You might want to join us in our research.  Please make notes on the post-it notes provided so that we can add your thoughts.
