They Had Used Clay and Glitter before in Isolation

Last week the children asked if they could work with clay in our mini studio.  They had used clay and glitter before in isolation.  They decided to mix the two in exploration of their properties in the union of the two.  You can see in the photo the globs of golden flecked clay.

A friend brought in a hornet’s nest and wasp nests.  One morning we placed a wasp nest and a huge mound of clay.  We challenged the children to recreate the wasp nest using clay.  In a couple of these photos you can see the clay wasp nests that the children sculpted using clay.
