Pattern-making Spilled Over into Other Areas of the Room

This week on our observation deck the children played with magna tiles creating patterns.  Pattern-making spilled over into other areas of our room.  We challenged the children to create, name, and notice patterns in play areas of the room and in their everyday experiences.  During meetings this week we had pattern lessons.  The children are learning to create, extend, and name patterns.  Some of the ways that they name patterns are colors, letters, and American Sign Language.  Might be fun to join in the fun at home and challenge your child to create, extend, notice and name patterns.
