As I mentioned in the previous post, prior to our leaving for the holidays, the week was busy! On Tuesday our parents provided five crafts for the children to assemble and take home either completed, in progress, or to do at home. This was no small feat for four and five year old children, but they were up to the challenge.
At times it seemed overwhelming to me as an adult, but the children embraced the abundance of materials and tasks with calmness, confidence, and self-regulation. Again I was able to reflect on my own Image of the Child and to appreciate their boldness when confronted with challenges.
A special thanks to the two parents who volunteered to lead the craft morning, to the room parents who chose the craft selections, and to parents who were there for a birthday celebration and stayed to help.
