Pushing and Pulling, Examples of Force

Last week the Burke scientists taught us another lesson on force.  In these photos you can see the children preparing pop cups to apply force to thrust a pompom into the air.  The children used drinking cups, balloons, and pompoms to create these pop cups.  They were guided by the Burke scientists in thinking about force and applying force in a positive way in their daily living.  An example of this is pushing and pulling out chairs and bins in the classroom.  You might want to extend this lesson at home with conversation and examples of using force.
