The steps/observation deck in our classroom serve many different purposes. Above you see several children collaborating on a lego project. Multi layers give a new dimension to the play. Every week our observation deck/steps take on new meaning and the children show us new and creative ways of using the area. Enabling children to play, to create, to observe, to collaborate, to listen – what a luxury for this teacher and for his students. Learning is play; play is learning; and when the two cease cohabitation, learning become laborious.
